India’s women’s recurve archery team won gold at the Archery World Cup 2026 in Shanghai after defeating hosts China in a dramatic shoot-off.

The Indian trio featured Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Kumkum Mohod.

Both teams were tied 4-4 after four sets before India secured a 28-26 shoot-off victory.

Ankita opened the shoot-off with a 9, Kumkum followed with a perfect 10, and Deepika sealed the win with a decisive 9.

The gold marked Deepika’s 39th Archery World Cup medal, Ankita’s eighth, and Kumkum’s first.

India had earlier stunned 10-time Olympic champions South Korea 5-1 in the semi-finals.

India finished the Shanghai leg with two medals after Sahil Jadhav won bronze in the men’s individual compound event.

Simranjeet Kaur narrowly missed bronze in the women’s recurve event after losing 6-4 to South Korea’s Jang Minhee.
