India’s Commonwealth Games campaign in Glasgow ended with one final look at a medal table that told two stories. The overall haul of 39 medals, including 13 gold, was smaller than Birmingham 2022, but these were also a much leaner Games, with several of India’s strongest sports missing.
Boxing carried the campaign. Every Indian boxer who reached a medal bout returned with a medal, delivering seven golds and three silvers. Neeraj Chopra added javelin silver, while Yashvir Singh took bronze. Gulveer Singh was India’s only double medallist.
