When the Indian Men’s cricket team was being humiliated in Southampton, at the same time, just 80 kilometers away, the Indian Women’s cricket team was creating history at Lord’s in London.
Indian team was fortunate to get the chance to feature in the first-ever Test match at one of the most iconic venues in the sport, Lord's, but it was their excellence that enabled them to register a thumping win of 270 runs against hosts England.
This landmark game created iconic moments for Indian Cricket, including Kranti Gaud becoming the first woman to feature on the Lord’s famous honours board after she took a fifer in the second innings and just after her, Wicket-keeper batter Yastika Bhatia became the first batter to score a century in this special Test match.
